Florence Airport Trains
Florence Airport is located in the Sesto Fiorentino territory, at distance of just 4 km from Florence and is one of the two most important airports of the Tuscany region. The Florence Airport is locally known as Peretola Airport or Amerigo Vespucci Airport. The Florence Airport has no train station of its own. However, a frequent bus service helps the passengers getting to by train from central train station to the Florence Airport.
The central train station of Florence is also known as the Santa Maria Novella Railway Station, which is connected to the Florence Airport through the services of Sita/ATAF Bus Company. Traveling by bus from the train station to the airport is the most convenient and comfortable transportation option. For those passengers with not much luggage, it is also inexpensive as compare to other options like taxis and car hire. The trip only takes 20 minutes from the train station to the airport.
The bus service operates between 5:30 am to 8 pm and departs after every half an hour from the Santa Maria Novella Railway Station to the Florence Airport. From 8 pm to 11 pm the buses departs for the airport on hourly basis. High speed trains travel from many places of Europe and also from within Italy. From Rome the passengers can reach Florence in an hour and forty minutes journey time. From Milan, it takes three hours to reach Florence. The high speed trains of Eurostar Italia, Cisalpino and Artesia are regularly available for the central train station of Florence. These high speed trains have enabled the passengers to getting to by train from many places across Europe and within Italy to Florence Airport. For providing assistance to the passengers, a tourist information office is also located at the Santa Maria Novella Railway Station.
